Over the past few weeks, we reflected on different moments of 2020 through the 20 questions to close 2020 series. The exciting moments of achievements, the darkest moments of challenges. How would you make sense of this eventful year?
What would be your biggest achievements? Is it something associated with one of your peak moments? What did you do right to achieve that? How could you do it again if similar situations unfold next year?
What are your lessons learned? Would that be linked with you Darkest Hour? What are the actions or decisions you would take differently? From what different angles would you look at unexpected situations in the future?
Looking at all your phases of 2020, how would you summarize this year? Anything you find impactful and useful to bring it forward to 2021 as a reminder?
As you are going through this reflection, I would like to share with you this video of Steve Jobs delivering commencement address in the Stanford University. It was 15 years ago, but the wisdom in his speech is timeless.
If you feel able to connect the dots and made something wonderful out of the year, congratulations, keep living it!
If you feel you couldn't make sense of what happened, that's okay. You are still going through the process. Trust the process, the dots will connect.
If you feel like you hit, maybe even stayed at rock bottom this year, hang in there. As life goes on, you will realize what you gained after all this.
